New Delhi: This year’s NEET 2025 exam has triggered a storm of controversy across India, with thousands of aspirants flooding social media to label the paper as “unreasonably difficult” and “mismatched with the expected syllabus.” Many are calling it a “disaster” and demanding urgent answers from the National Testing Agency (NTA).
Viral posts and threads on platforms like Reddit, X (formerly Twitter), and Telegram reveal widespread frustration among NEET candidates who felt the difficulty level of Physics and Chemistry sections was far beyond previous trends, with multiple tricky and unexpected questions.
A now-viral Reddit thread titled “NEET 2025 Was a Disaster” states:
“We studied day and night with NCERT as the base, but this year’s paper felt completely off. NTA needs to answer. Students are mentally shattered.”

Students List Major Concerns
- Physics and Chemistry sections were reported to be unexpectedly complex, time-consuming, and “off-trend.”
- Questions included low-weightage or rarely covered topics, not aligned with the typical NEET blueprint.
- Many students also complained about ambiguous MCQs, lengthy calculations, and a tougher-than-usual Biology section.
Thousands of posts under hashtags like #NEET2025Disaster, #NTAAnswerUs, and #UnfairNEET2025 continue to trend, with students demanding transparency and action.
Parent Bodies and Coaching Institutes Join the Appeal
Educators and parents have echoed the concerns. A top coaching institute based in Kota stated:

“This was not the paper students were trained for. Such deviation in pattern, without warning, is mentally devastating for aspirants. We urge NTA to review the paper and ensure fairness.”
Others have called on NTA to:
- Consider grace marks or a normalisation strategy.
- Disclose the paper-setting guidelines and blueprint used.
- And publicly address the growing backlash to restore student confidence.
NTA’s Silence Raises More Questions
Despite the uproar, the NTA has not issued any official response regarding the alleged paper difficulty or the rising demand for re-evaluation. Several education activists are now calling on the Ministry of Education to intervene and ensure accountability.
Education analyst Dr. Preeti Sharma commented:
“NEET is a national-level exam where even slight deviations can jeopardize lakhs of futures. NTA owes the public a thorough explanation.”
As the pressure mounts, the credibility of NEET 2025 hangs in the balance. Students, parents, and education experts are calling for urgent intervention and clear communication from NTA to ensure fairness, transparency, and justice in the evaluation process.
