The National Testing Agency (NTA) will shut its NEET UG 2026 fee refund correction window today, June 30, 2026. Candidates who appeared in the re-conducted NEET UG exam and are yet to confirm or update their bank account details must complete the process before the portal closes tonight, as no requests will be entertained once the deadline passes.
This refund facility was opened for students affected by the cancellation of the original NEET UG 2026 exam, which was later re-conducted on June 21 after security concerns led authorities to scrap the first attempt.
Why NTA Reopened the Refund Window
After the NEET UG exam was cancelled and rescheduled, the NTA had earlier collected bank details from candidates so that the examination fee could be refunded directly into their accounts. However, the agency later received multiple complaints about incorrect account numbers and wrong IFSC codes submitted during the initial round.
To fix this, NTA reopened a fresh correction window from June 25 to June 30, allowing nearly 20 lakh re-exam candidates to recheck, edit, or freshly submit their banking information. Candidates who had earlier opted for “No Refund” have also been given the option to reverse that choice during this window.
As an added safety measure, the agency has introduced OTP-based two-factor authentication linked to candidates’ registered mobile numbers, aimed at preventing unauthorised access to financial details.

What Happens If Candidates Miss the Deadline
The NTA has been clear that this is the final opportunity for bank detail corrections. Once the window shuts tonight, candidates with pending or incorrect submissions risk delays or failure in receiving their refund. Since the agency processes refunds strictly based on the information confirmed on the portal, students are strongly advised to double-check account numbers, IFSC codes, and beneficiary names before the final submission.
What’s Next for NEET UG 2026 Candidates
With the refund process nearing completion, attention now turns to the NEET UG 2026 result. The provisional answer key has already been released, and the answer key challenge window has closed. Candidates are awaiting the final result, which will determine eligibility for NEET counselling and admission to MBBS, BDS, and other medical and allied health courses across the country.
Students are advised to keep checking neet.nta.nic.in regularly for updates on the refund status, result date, and subsequent counselling schedule.
