The National Medical Commission (NMC) has clarified the login process for medical colleges and institutions intending to file appeals through its Online Appeal Portal, specifically for those who had applied for the establishment of new medical colleges for Academic Year 2026-27.
What the Notice Says
Medical colleges/institutions that had submitted applications to the Medical Assessment and Rating Board (MARB) for establishing a new medical college for AY 2026-27 and now wish to appeal against MARB’s decision, must use the same login credentials (Email ID and Password) that they had originally used while submitting their MARB application.
This clarification comes in continuation of NMC’s earlier notice announcing that all appeals against decisions of the Autonomous Boards – MARB, UGMEB and PGMEB – under the NMC Act, 2019, must be filed exclusively through the Online Appeal Portal.
Background: Portal Now Mandatory for All Appeals
NMC has discontinued the earlier system of filing appeals via email or any other channel. All appeals must now be submitted through the portal, accessible at application.nmc.org.in/login, or via the college’s existing login on the NMC website.
Common reasons appeals get rejected as deficient include:
- Filing under the incorrect provision of the NMC Act
- Missing or incomplete supporting documents
- Filing before the wrong authority
How to File an Appeal – Quick Steps
- Login: Enter User ID, Password and Captcha at the portal.
- Dashboard: View Total Appeals, Pending Appeals, Disposed Appeals, Not Admitted and Deficiency status.
- Add New Appeal: Creates a draft application.

Who Should Take Note
This notice is specifically relevant for medical colleges/institutions that applied to MARB for setting up new medical colleges for AY 2026-27 and now intend to challenge MARB’s decision on their establishment application.
