The NMC in action after Red Fort blast & Al-Falah Medical College Link emerged. Read details of the probe, allegations, and response.

Red Fort Blast & Al-Falah Medical College Link: The shocking Red Fort blast in Delhi has shaken not just the nation’s security agencies but also India’s higher education ecosystem. The Red Fort Blast-Al Falah Medical College link has surfaced in the investigation. What started as a terror investigation after a car explosion near Red Fort has now drawn in the National Medical Commission (NMC).

With several doctors reportedly under the scanner, the incident has sparked intense debate about background checks, campus ethics, and regulatory oversight in private medical colleges.

Red Fort Blast: A Quick Recap

On November 10, 2025, a car exploded near Delhi’s Red Fort Metro Station, killing at least eight people and injuring several others. Initial reports suggested the use of a powerful explosive device, Ammonium Nitrate Fuel Oil (ANFO), weighing nearly 2.9 kilograms.

As investigation agencies, including the Delhi Police Special Cell, NIA, and Intelligence Bureau, dug deeper, they found that some of the individuals linked to the blast had medical backgrounds and were allegedly associated with Al Falah Medical College in Faridabad.

About the University

  • Location: Dhauj, Faridabad, Haryana
  • Established: 2014 (under Haryana Private Universities Act)
  • Medical Wing: Al-Falah School of Medical Sciences & Research Centre (MBBS program approved by NMC)
  • Affiliation: Al-Falah University
  • Accreditation Status: Formerly claimed NAAC ‘A’ grade, but reports suggest the accreditation has lapsed.

The university, spread across 70+ acres, has served primarily students from Delhi-NCR and minority communities. However, recent revelations have put its governance, faculty verification, and campus security protocols under serious scrutiny.

Red Fort Blast-Al Falah Medical College link: What Investigators Found

According to media reports, three to four doctors associated with Al Falah Medical College are under investigation for their suspected roles in the Red Fort blast and related activities.

One of them, reportedly an Assistant Professor, is believed to have coordinated with others from within the campus premises.

Investigators claim that Room 13 in Building 17 was being used as a meeting point and planning hub for the module, now being referred to as a case of “white-collar terrorism.”

Key Allegations:

  • Use of college facilities for coordination and meetings.
  • Possible misuse of official ID cards and on-campus resources.
  • Loopholes in faculty recruitment and background verification.
  • Lapsed or outdated accreditation claims on the university’s website.

NMC Steps In: The Regulator Responds

In a swift move, the National Medical Commission (NMC) confirmed that it is “closely monitoring the investigation” and will take appropriate regulatory action based on official findings.

“The matter is under active investigation. The Commission will take appropriate action as per regulations once the findings of the investigating agencies are received.” NMC official responded.

This marks a rare instance where the NMC has directly intervened in a criminal-linked institutional case, highlighting the regulator’s role beyond academic quality, extending into ethical compliance and campus integrity.

Statements from Al Falah University

In its defence, the university administration has denied any institutional involvement, stating that the accused individuals acted in their personal capacity.

“The University has no connection whatsoever with the incident. We are fully cooperating with the investigating agencies. The individuals arrested are no longer associated with our institution.” Al-Falah Medical College said in a statement.

However, the university’s website and records are being reviewed after the NAAC raised concerns about outdated or incorrect accreditation data.

The Red Fort blast investigation has exposed a deeper crisis, where educational sanctuaries risk being misused due to weak oversight.
