UP NEET UG 2025: Uttar Pradesh Directorate General of Medical Education and Training (DGME) has come up with a seminal notice to NEET UG 2025 candidates who may wish to volunteer resigning the seats allocated to them during the first and second rounds of counseling.
The formal order seeks to apprise students of voluntary surrendering process and timings in an effort to provide transparency and efficient seat handling for future rounds.

Any candidate who does not want to hold the seat allotted to them should officially resign from it at the assigned nodal center where the admission process was conducted.
The notice states that the last date for submitting the resignation letter is October 9, 2025, by 5:00 PM. Late submission will not be accepted, and seats will be distributed based on original allotment.

- The rule of surrender of seat will be applicable to all such students who have been allotted MBBS/BDS seats under first or second round of UP NEET UG 2025 counseling.

Procedure to Resign From the Allotted Seats
All those students who wish to vacate their medical or dental seat which has been allotted to them are required to do the following:
- Appear in person at the concerned nodal center.
- Prepare and submit a written resignation letter within the given time frame.
- Verify that the resignation has been accepted formally in the nodal center and included in the records.

DGME again clarifies that the measures are in the direction of streamlining counseling and seat allocation for the subsequent rounds. Sudden resignation submission is to ensure that no seat remains vacant and ensures equal chances to other aspirants.
The authority advises frequent visits to the official websites- upneet.gov.in and dgme.up.gov.in for news, notifications, and procedural information.
Parents and candidates are instructed that non-adherence to deadline or due procedure can result in seat retention and debarment from the upcoming rounds of participation.
The rules further dictate that administrative charges shall be withheld from the amount of registration, especially when resignation is made after the first round. The order has been duly signed by the Director General of Medical Education & Training (DGME), Uttar Pradesh.
