UP NEET UG 2026 1st Round Choice Filling Begins, Check Important Guidelines

Lucknow, September 3, 2026: The Office of the Director General, Medical Education & Training, Uttar Pradesh, has issued important instructions/guidelines for the choice-filling and admission process for Round 1 of UP NEET UG Counselling 2026.

About the Notice

As per the official notice (No. M0I0-3/UG0-2026/1610) dated September 3, 2026, issued from Lucknow, the following key guidelines have been laid down for candidates participating in the counselling process.

Key Guidelines for Candidates

1. Only candidates declared successful in the NEET UG-2026 entrance examination are eligible to participate in UP NEET UG-2026 counselling.
2. Only candidates who have deposited the security money and whose documents are verified will be eligible for choice-filling.
3. Candidates must fill their choices for seats in Government/Private medical/dental colleges based on their own priority, selecting only those colleges where they wish to take admission.
4. Choice-locking is mandatory after online choice-filling. Candidates who fail to lock their choices will be automatically excluded from the allotment process.
5. Once choices are locked, no modification/change will be permitted under any circumstances, and the Directorate will not consider any application in this regard.
6. For candidates allotted seats in Government sector medical/dental colleges, the admission process will be completed at the allotted college.
7. For candidates allotted seats in private sector medical/dental colleges, the admission process will be completed at the Nodal Centre designated by the government. The list of Nodal Centres is available in the UP NEET UG-2026 brochure.
8. Candidates should personally check the Tuition Fee details for minority/non-minority private medical/dental colleges, available on the official websites https://upneet.gov.in and https://dgme.up.gov.in.
9. Candidates allotted seats in private sector medical/dental colleges must deposit the Tuition Fee prescribed by the government/minority institution via a CTS bank draft made in favour of “Director General, Medical Education & Training, U.P., Payable at Lucknow”, payable in Lucknow, at the designated Nodal Centre at the time of admission. Failure to do so will result in automatic cancellation of admission.

What Candidates Should Do

• Ensure security deposit and document verification are complete before choice-filling.
• Fill choices carefully based on priority, as no changes are allowed after locking.
• Keep the CTS bank draft ready in advance if allotted a private college seat.
• Regularly visit upneet.gov.in and dgme.up.gov.in for updates.
