UP NEET UG Counselling 2026 Round 1 Result Cancelled, Fresh Choice Filling to Begin Again

The Directorate General of Medical Education and Training (DGME), Uttar Pradesh, has cancelled the Round 1 online counselling conducted for admission to MBBS and BDS courses under UP NEET UG Counselling 2026. As a consequence, the seat allotment and admissions made on the basis of the earlier Round 1 result also stand cancelled.

Why Round 1 Was Cancelled

Following an order passed by the Allahabad High Court, Lucknow Bench, dated 16 September 2026, the Uttar Pradesh Government issued necessary directions regarding the counselling process. In compliance with the Court’s order, DGME Uttar Pradesh has released a revised schedule for Round 1 counselling, under which the entire choice-filling and allotment process will be conducted afresh.

What This Means for Candidates

• The earlier Round 1 seat allotment result stands cancelled, and any admission taken on that basis will also be treated as invalid.
• All eligible candidates – including those who had already been allotted a seat in the earlier Round 1 result – will need to fill their choices again under the revised schedule.
• Candidates are advised not to make any duplicate registration or fee payment without official instructions, and to rely only on updates from their counselling dashboard and the official DGME UP portal.

What Candidates Should Do

• Log in to the DGME UP counselling portal and fill/update choices before the deadline of 21 September 2026, 5:00 PM.
• Wait for the revised seat allotment result on 22 September 2026 before taking any further admission-related action.
• Once the result is declared, carefully check allotment details including allotted college, course, category, seat type, and reporting instructions.
• Keep checking the official counselling website regularly, as further instructions regarding fee, security deposit, or previously completed formalities may be updated.

Candidates who had earlier completed registration, document verification, or fee payment need not repeat those steps unless specifically instructed by the Board – only choice filling needs to be redone as per the revised schedule.
