UP NEET UG Round 2 Seat Matrix 2026 Released

The Department of Medical Education and Training, Uttar Pradesh, has released the UP NEET UG Round 2 seat matrix 2026 for MBBS and BDS counselling. The matrix was issued under the Director General Medical Education and Training, Lucknow, and approved on 21 September 2026 at 12:37 PM. Government vs Private Seats

Government institutions have 396 seats in this round, of which 370 are MBBS seats across 43 government colleges and 26 are BDS seats at the Faculty of Dental Sciences, KGMU, Lucknow. Private institutions have 3,260 seats, made up of 2,738 MBBS seats in 47 colleges and 522 BDS seats in 25 dental colleges.

Within each category, the matrix also lists sub-category columns (OP, GL, PH, EX, FF and NC). Of the 3,470 UR seats, 3,400 are UR-OP.

Government Medical Colleges: Seats in Round 2

The 43 government MBBS colleges include 28 autonomous state medical colleges, which together have 211 seats. Some of the biggest and smallest allocations are:

• King George Medical University (KGMU), Lucknow: 35 seats, the most among government MBBS colleges
• Dr. Ram Manohar Lohia Institute of Medical Sciences, Lucknow: 17 seats
• Autonomous State Medical College, Bijnor: 15 seats
• Autonomous State Medical College, Lalitpur: 13 seats
• Maharani Laxmibai Medical College, Jhansi and Sarojini Naidu Medical College, Agra: 12 seats each
• Autonomous State Medical College, Ghazipur: 2 seats, the fewest

Private Medical Colleges: Seats in Round 2

Private MBBS seats are concentrated in a few large colleges:

• Venkateswara Institute of Medical Sciences, Gajraula, Amroha: 121 seats
• KMC Medical College & Hospital, Maharajganj: 117 seats
• Rajshree Medical Research Institute, Bareilly: 111 seats
• Krishna Mohan Medical College & Hospital, Mathura: 97 seats
• T.S. Misra Medical College & Hospital, Lucknow and Teerthanker Mahaveer Medical College, Moradabad (Jain Minority): 93 seats each

The private list also includes minority-status institutions, such as Career Institute of Medical Sciences, Era’s Lucknow Medical College and F.H. Medical College, Agra, each with a separate minority listing.

BDS Seats in Round 2

There are 548 BDS seats in the matrix. The only government dental college is the Faculty of Dental Sciences, KGMU, with 26 seats (12 UR, 8 BC, 5 SC and 1 ST). The remaining 522 seats are in 25 private dental colleges, including D.J. College of Dental Sciences (Modinagar) with 49 seats, Maharana Pratap Dental College (Kanpur) with 40, and Teerthanker Mahaveer Dental College (Moradabad, Jain Minority) with 38.

Candidates taking part in Round 2 should go through the college-wise seat availability and category-wise split before filling choices. Some government colleges have very few seats in certain categories, so it helps to check the exact numbers for your own category.
