Uttarakhand BAMS Round 1 Counselling Certificate Verification Rule

The Uttarakhand Ayurved University (UAU), Dehradun, has issued an important circular (No. 1860/UAV/Counselling/2026-27, dated 24 September 2026) regarding the verification of certificates and admission of candidates allotted seats under Category/Sub-Category in the BAMS UG Round 1 counselling 2026. The letter has been addressed to the Directors/Principals of all university-affiliated and private Ayurvedic colleges under UAU.

Background

According to the circular, Round 1 counselling for BAMS admissions began on 24 September 2026. The Round 2 online counselling is proposed to be held from 18 October 2026 to 2 November 2026, followed by the Mop-Up round from 6 November 2026 to 22 November 2026. Seats will be allotted to candidates as per the rules set by the Counselling Board and the number of available seats.

Key Instructions for Colleges

• Colleges must thoroughly verify the original certificates and documents of every candidate allotted a seat under a specific Category/Sub-Category, at the time of admission.
• Colleges must ensure that certificates submitted by candidates are issued by a competent authority, are valid, and conform to the prescribed rules, and that the candidate is genuinely eligible for admission under the claimed category/sub-category.
• Even after a seat has been allotted by the Counselling Board on a provisional basis under a category/sub-category, the final admission decision must be taken by the college only after proper verification of certificates and eligibility, as per the prescribed norms.
• If any doubt or ambiguity arises regarding the validity of a candidate’s certificates, category/sub-category claim, or eligibility, the college must immediately inform the university instead of proceeding with admission on its own, and seek necessary guidance.
• If, after verification, a candidate is found fully eligible for the claimed category/sub-category, the relevant information/records must be properly preserved as per rules.

Accountability of Colleges

The circular clearly states that if any college admits a candidate without proper verification of certificates, or in violation of the prescribed rules, the concerned college/Principal will be held solely responsible. Necessary legal and administrative action will be taken in such cases as per rules, and all resulting liability will rest with the college.
