Uttarakhand NEET UG Round 3 Counselling 2026 Schedule Out

Dehradun: Hemwati Nandan Bahuguna Uttarakhand Medical Education University (HNBUMU) has released the schedule and instructions for Uttarakhand NEET UG Round 3 Counselling 2026. The notice is dated September 29, 2026. Registration for the NRI quota round opens the same day and closes on October 5, 2026 at 5:00 PM.

Registration Fee and Security Deposit (NRI Quota)

• Registration fee: Rs 6,500
• Security deposit: Rs 1,00,000
• The schedule marks these amounts as non-refundable and says payment is by credit card, debit card or net banking for all categories.
• Float candidates opting for seat upgradation do not need to pay the registration fee or security deposit again.

NRI Quota Seats in Uttarakhand Private Medical Colleges

Under Uttarakhand government notifications, 15% of seats are reserved for Non-Resident Indians in these Dehradun institutions:

• Shri Guru Ram Rai Institute of Medical and Health Sciences
• Himalayan Institute of Medical Sciences
• Gautam Buddha Chikitsa Mahavidyalaya

Admissions are based on NEET UG 2026 merit. Eligibility is checked using documents such as a foreign passport, Green Card or Permanent Resident Card, proof of foreign residency, or an OCI/PIO card. The allotted college verifies all documents at the time of admission.

Documents Required for NRI Quota

Candidates must keep these documents ready. The university marks most of them as mandatory:

• NEET UG 2026 scorecard and admit card
• Class 10 and Class 12 mark sheets and passing certificates
• Birth certificate (age proof)
• Candidate’s passport (if available) and the NRI sponsor’s valid passport
• NRI certificate issued by the Embassy
• NRI/OCI sponsor certificate and NRI status certificate or PIO card
• NRI undertaking
• Relationship certificate or family tree verified by a competent authority, showing the blood relation between candidate and sponsor
• Sponsorship affidavit confirming relationship and financial responsibility
• Embassy certificate confirming that the sponsor lives abroad
• Student visa (if applicable)
• Financial proof of the sponsor, such as bank statements or salary slips

Who Can Take Part in Round 3?

The following candidates can participate:

1. Candidates who did not register in Round 1 or Round 2 and want to take part in Round 3.
2. Registered candidates who did not get any seat in Round 1.
3. Candidates who chose the Float option in Round 1 or Round 2 and want an upgrade.
4. Candidates who chose neither Float nor Freeze and want a seat allotment.
5. Candidates who chose Freeze or Float but gave up their seat within the given time.

Not eligible: Candidates who chose Freeze in Round 1 or Round 2 and completed admission, and candidates who completed admission on a seat allotted through MCC up to its third round.

Important Rules for Round 3 Candidates

• Fresh choice filling is compulsory. Previously registered candidates must log in with their registered ID on the university website, fill the online form and submit new choices. Without this, they will not be considered for allotment. Earlier choices are treated as cancelled.
• No new fee for earlier payers. Candidates who already paid the registration fee and security deposit in Round 1 or 2 need not pay again. Changing the quota (State or All India Open) may need an extra deposit if the earlier amount falls short. Any excess amount is returned one month after all counselling rounds end.
• Correction fee: Any change to the form or choices costs Rs 500 per change, payable online during the registration dates. Each correction cancels the earlier application. Corrections by email or phone are not accepted.
• Save and submit: Choices must be both saved and submitted. Unsaved choices make the candidate ineligible. Saved but unsubmitted choices are submitted automatically after the deadline.
• Keep a printout of the completed form. Queries will be resolved on the basis of that printout.
• Seat upgradation: A candidate upgraded in Round 3 loses all claim on the earlier seat, which goes to the next eligible candidate. A Float candidate who does not fill choices keeps the Round 1 seat and must freeze it.
• Seat surrender: Freeze and Float candidates from Round 1 and 2 can give up their seats, with the security deposit forfeited, until October 5, 2026, 5:00 PM, and only through the prescribed process. Seat surrender is not allowed after that time.
• Non-joining: A candidate who does not take admission on a Round 3 seat forfeits the security deposit. They can register again for later rounds by paying afresh.
• No exit after joining: A candidate who takes admission on a Round 3 seat cannot leave it.
• Stray round: A candidate allotted a seat in the stray round who does not join can be barred from the NEET UG exam for one year, and the deposit will be forfeited, in line with Supreme Court/Government of India/MCC directions.

Reservation Rules

• Reservation in State Quota seats is available only to permanent residents of Uttarakhand and follows the state’s policy on the counselling date.
• Category or sub-category certificates must be issued by a competent Uttarakhand authority before the online application deadline. Certificates issued later are not valid.
• OBC certificates must be valid on the date of admission (valid for three years from the issue date).
• Divyang candidates need a certificate from a medical board nominated by the National Medical Commission.
• Unfilled reserved seats will be converted as per rules.

2. Fill the form and lock choices before 5:00 PM on October 5, 2026.
3. Read the college-wise fee details, bond rules and seat recognition status on the university website before choosing a college.
4. Check the result on October 9, 2026.
5. Upload and verify academic and original documents on the counselling portal, and report to the allotted college in person with original documents.
