WB UG Medical & Dental Session 2026 to Formally Begin on Sep 15

Kolkata: The Directorate of Medical Education, Government of West Bengal, has issued a memo announcing the formal start of the session for UG Medical & Dental courses for the academic year 2026-27. The memo (No. HFW-23099/320/2026/M/2355), dated September 10, 2026, has been issued by the Director of Medical Education, Government of West Bengal, and addressed to the Directors/Principals/Deans of all Government and Private Medical & Dental Colleges in West Bengal.

Formal Start Date Announced

As per the memo, the formal start of the session for UG Medical & Dental courses for 2026-27 will be on and from September 15, 2026. Individual colleges have been requested to prepare their college-specific routine accordingly.

This decision is in pursuance of the date of Commencement of Academic Session for UG Courses published in the State Schedule by the National Medical Commission (NMC), New Delhi, dated September 2, 2026.

The memo has been marked for information to several stakeholders, including the Vice Chancellor of WBUHS, the Registrar of WBUHS, WBMC and WBDC, the Controller of Examinations (WBUHS), and senior officials of the Department of Health and Family Welfare, Government of West Bengal.
