The Directorate of Medical Education (DME), Assam, has released the schedule for the 2nd Round Online Counselling for admission into 1st year MBBS/BDS courses in the Government Medical and Dental Colleges of Assam for the session 2026. The notice, issued on September 5, 2026, covers vacant State Quota seats.
Eligibility
Candidates who have qualified the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET-UG 2026), conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA), may participate in the online counselling, provided they fulfil all eligibility criteria mentioned in “The Medical Colleges and Dental Colleges of Assam (Regulation of Admission into 1st year MBBS/BDS courses) Rules, 2017 (Amended upto 2026)”, and meet the cut-off score in NEET-UG 2026.

The Online Portal for counselling will be available at the official website www.dme.assam.gov.in.
Key Points for Candidates
- Candidates who already registered and participated in Round 1 state counselling need not register again – they can directly take part in the Online Choice Filling for Round 2, either for fresh allotment or for a change of college.
- Choices not locked by the candidate within the stipulated window (09.09.2026, 5:00 PM to 11:59 PM) will be automatically locked.
- After processing of seat allotment, the result will be displayed on 11.09.2026, along with the modalities of admission.
- Provisionally selected candidates must get admitted at their respective allotted institutions on 17.09.2026 or 18.09.2026 during office hours.
