Aafreen, a BAMS student who cracked NEET UG 2025 with 602 marks, proving that switching from BAMS to MBBS is possible with hard work, self-study, and determination.

BAMS to MBBS: In India, where a single failure can cause you to give up, 20-year-old Aafreen’s story stands as a shining example of consistent hard work. Born to a tailor’s family, Aafreen has not only cracked the NEET UG 2025 with an impressive 602 marks but also redefined the journey from BAMS to MBBS, inspiring countless aspirants who feel trapped in alternative medical courses.

Her determination proves that dreams delayed are not dreams denied.

NEET UG 2024 Setback:

Aafreen’s first significant milestone came in NEET UG 2024, when she scored a remarkable 648 marks, a score that would make any student proud. But fate had other plans. Despite this stellar performance, high cut-offs and the infamous NEET paper leak dashed her MBBS hopes. With no government seat in reach, she reluctantly took admission into BAMS (Bachelor of Ayurvedic Medicine and Surgery) at the Ayurvedic and Unani Tibbia College, India.

“I felt shattered. I had given it my best but still couldn’t get what I truly wanted, MBBS,” she recalled.

NEET UG 2025 Success

The hard work finally paid off in NEET UG 2025. With a score of 602 marks and a Rank of 1221, Aafreen is once again knocking on the doors of her real dream, MBBS.

“I want to study at either Maulana Azad Medical College or Vardhman Mahavir Medical College (Safdarjung Hospital). My heart is inclined towards Cardiology, but I’ll decide during my MBBS journey,” she smiles.

BAMS to MBBS

While most students might have accepted this turn of fate, Aafreen wasn’t willing to settle. Even while studying BAMS, the dream of becoming an MBBS doctor was still burning within her. Her family and friends encouraged her to try once more, and this time, give it her all.

Balancing BAMS classes with NEET preparation wasn’t easy. But Aafreen knew that without coaching, something her family couldn’t afford, she used online resources and videos for NEET preparation. She started self-studying with determination:

  • 8 hours of daily study in normal months.
  • 12+ hours daily during exam season.
  • Meticulous short notes, revision charts, problem lists, all self-made.

“There were days I felt exhausted, but I reminded myself why I started,” she said.

In between the pressure of BAMS coursework and NEET UG 2025 preparation, Aafreen found calm in simple joys: sketching, playing chess with siblings, and small breaks from study marathons.

Her ability to maintain mental well-being was key in preventing burnout, something she strongly advises every NEET aspirant to prioritise.

Her Message to Every BAMS Student Dreaming of MBBS

Aafreen’s journey offers hope to thousands of students who feel “stuck” in BAMS but dream of switching to MBBS. Her story proves:

  • BAMS is not the end of the road.
  • A fresh attempt at NEET UG is always possible and winnable.
  • Free online resources, smart study, and self-belief can replace costly coaching.
  • Mental strength, family support, and extracurricular balance matter as much as hard study hours.

“Trust yourself. Stay consistent, but also relax sometimes. Your physical and mental health is more important than one exam,” she advises fellow aspirants.

NEET UG Aspirants: MBBS is Possible After BAMS

In India, many BAMS students silently dream of MBBS but feel societal and financial pressure to “accept reality.” Aafreen breaks this myth.

Her story tells every BAMS student, and every NEET repeater, that:

  • Age is not a barrier.
  • One failure is not the final verdict.
  • Alternate medical streams can be a stepping stone, not a dead-end.
  • Focused preparation, even alongside BAMS, can deliver success.

Aafreen: The Face of Never Giving Up

Aafreen’s transition from BAMS to MBBS is not just a personal victory; it’s a powerful message to India’s medical aspirants:

  • Your dream is valid, no matter how long it takes.
  • Persistence always outshines privilege.
  • Every setback is setting you up for a stronger comeback.

As she awaits her MBBS seat this year, Aafreen continues to inspire, proving that determination, discipline, and hope can sew even the tightest stitches into a perfect medical dream.

What Aafreen’s Story Teaches You

  • BAMS or BHMS students can successfully switch to MBBS with effort.
