Patna: The Bihar Police is offering a reward of Rs 3 lakh to anyone who gives information leading to the arrest of Sanjeev Kumar Singh, also known as Sanjeev Mukhiya, in the NEET-UG 2024 question paper leak case. The Additional Director General (ADG), Kundan Krishnan, issued a notice from the Bihar Police headquarters, saying it’s important to arrest him as he is a key person in one of India’s biggest exam scams.
Bihar Police has named Shubham Kumar and Rajkishore Kumar as co-accused in the NEET-UG 2024 paper leak case. They are offering a Rs 1 lakh reward for information leading to their arrest, valid for two years. Both citizens and police officers can claim the reward.
Who is Sanjeev Mukhiya?
Sanjeev Mukhiya of Shahpur Balwa in Nalanda district is the prime accused in the NEET-UG 2024 paper leak case (case number 358/2024) at Shastri Nagar police station. He is also linked to other scams, including constable and teacher recruitment fraud. Officials see him as a repeat offender in major exam scams.
Details on the Other Accused
- Shubham Kumar, from Beech Bazaar under Sohsarai police station in Nalanda, is wanted in two separate cases.
- Rajkishore Kumar, a resident of Bakhtari village under Karpi police station in Arwal, has two cases registered against him.
- Both are linked to the NEET-UG 2024 paper leak case and are being sought by the police.
CBI Takes Over NEET-UG 2024 Paper Leak Case
The NEET-UG paper leak came to light after the police found irregularities during the exam on May 5, 2024. The case was first handled by the Patna police, then transferred to the Economic Offences Unit (EOU) and finally handed over to the CBI on June 23, 2024.
The CBI FIR names eight accused: Sanjeev Mukhiya, Ayush Raj, Rocky, Amit Anand, Nitish Kumar, Bittu, Akhilesh and Sikandar Yadavendu. Investigators believe Mukhiya ran multiple cheating operations and played a central role in India’s exam scam network.
Police Ask for Help from the Public
Bihar Police is asking people to share any information that could help catch the fugitives. They promise to keep it confidential and give the full reward if the arrest is made.
