Jharkhand Combined Entrance Competitive Examination Board issues guidelines for candidates ahead of State Merit List-based online counselling for MBBS, BDS and BHMS admissions.
The Jharkhand Combined Entrance Competitive Examination Board (JCECEB) has released an important advisory for candidates planning to apply for the State Merit List-based online counselling for admission to MBBS, BDS and BHMS courses in Jharkhand. The counselling will be conducted on the basis of the NEET (UG) 2026 result, once the result is published.
Through Letter No. J.C.E.C.E.B/46/26, the Board has asked all eligible aspirants to get their category certificates, income and assets certificates, PwD certificates and Aadhaar Card updated well in advance, in order to avoid discrepancies, grievances, rejection or cancellation of applications at a later stage.
What the JCECEB Advisory States
1. Category or Income & Assets Certificate Candidates belonging to ST, SC, BCI (NCL), BCII (NCL) categories, as well as those applying under the EWS quota, are advised to get their Category or Income & Assets certificates updated. These certificates must be issued by an officer not below the rank of Sub-Divisional Officer (Civil) of the Jharkhand state.
Join NEET News 2026 2. PwD Certificate (for Persons with Disabilities) Candidates applying under the PwD category must ensure their certificates are updated. Importantly, the Board has clarified that PwD certificates for Deafness and Hard of Hearing disability will be considered valid only if issued by RIMS, Ranchi or Civil Surgeon, Deoghar (on the report of AIIMS, Deoghar).
3. Aadhaar Card All candidates appearing for the online counselling are advised to ensure their Aadhaar Card is accurate, valid and duly updated in all respects. There should be no discrepancy in Name, Date of Birth, Gender, Photograph, Address or Biometric Information.
Why This Advisory Matters
JCECEB conducts counselling for admission to MBBS, BDS and BHMS courses in Jharkhand on the basis of the State Merit List, which is prepared using NEET (UG) scores. Since documents like category, income and PwD certificates are verified at the time of counselling and seat allotment, any mismatch or outdated information can lead to rejection of application, cancellation of allotted seat, or unnecessary grievances during the process.
