Stray Round for All India Seats

The Health, Medical Education and Family Welfare Department, Government of Jharkhand, has directed the board to treat the remaining non-state-quota seats as All India seats after the first, second and third rounds of counselling. These seats will be filled online from the All India Merit List.

MBBS (All India seats) in these colleges:

  • Laxmi Chandravansi Medical College and Hospital, Palamu
  • Netaji Subhas Medical College and Hospital, Seraikela-Kharsawan
  • Sido Kanhu Medical College and Hospital, Dumka
  • Birsa Institute of Medical Sciences and Research, Khunti

BDS (All India seats) in these colleges:

  • Vananchal Dental College and Hospital, Garhwa (under Babu Dinesh Singh University, Garhwa)
  • Awadh Dental College and Hospital, Jamshedpur, where 50% of BDS seats will be filled from the All India Merit List based on the NEET UG 2026 result

The schedule for these seats is the same as the state quota schedule above, with application from October 14 to 16, vacant seat matrix on October 15, merit list on October 17, choice filling from October 17 to 19, provisional allotment letters from October 21 to 26, and document verification and admission from October 22 to 26.

Important Points for Candidates

  • No fresh application for some candidates: Candidates whose names are in the State Merit List released on September 26, 2026 do not need to apply online again.
  • BDS category exchange: Vacant BDS state quota seats in different categories will be exchanged in the stray round if reserved category candidates are unavailable. This follows the provisions of the Department of Personnel, Administrative Reforms and Rajbhasa, Government of Jharkhand.
  • Earlier advertisements modified: Advertisement nos. JCECEB/46/26-47 (August 6, 2026), JCECEB/46/26-52 and JCECEB/46/26-53 (both August 8, 2026) stand modified to this extent. All other terms and conditions remain the same.

Choice Filling Deadline Today

October 19, 2026 is the last day of choice filling, which closes at 6:00 pm. An editing window for filled choices then runs from 6:01 pm to midnight. Registered candidates should lock their choices before the deadline to be considered for provisional seat allotment, which will be issued from October 21.
