New Delhi: The Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) has issued an urgent notice for candidates and state counselling authorities. It concerns candidates who did not physically report to their allotted colleges after Round 3 of NEET UG counselling. The notice, No. 26 (Ref. U-11011/07/2026-MEC), is dated October 11, 2026. It was issued by the Office of MCC under the Directorate General of Health Services, Ministry of Health and Family Welfare.

What the notice says

The notice covers two groups of candidates:

  • Candidates retained from Round 1 or Round 2 who had chosen the float option
  • Candidates who were allotted a seat in Round 3

According to the counselling bulletin, all such candidates had to join the allotted college physically. MCC says some of them did not report, and it has published a list of those candidates.

Candidates cannot claim seats now

MCC has made it clear that these candidates cannot claim the seats now. The reporting time under the official schedule ended on October 9, 2026.

Why this matters

  • Float option holders: Retaining a seat from an earlier round with the float option did not remove the need to report physically. Failure to report has consequences.
  • Round 3 allottees: Physical joining at the allotted college was mandatory. Missing the October 9 deadline means the claim cannot be revived.
  • State counselling authorities: The notice is also addressed to them, since the list of non-reporting candidates is relevant to seat management and state-level processes.

What candidates should do

  • Check the notice and the list of non-reporting candidates on the official MCC website, mcc.nic.in.
  • Follow MCC and state counselling authority notices for any further instructions on vacant seats and the next stage of counselling.
  • Contact the concerned counselling authority for clarification about individual cases.
