The Directorate of Medical Education (DME), Madhya Pradesh, has released the seat distribution matrix for NEET UG 2026 First Round counselling, covering Government & Autonomous Medical/Dental Colleges as well as Private Medical and Dental Colleges across the state. The seat matrix was published on August 11, 2026.
Government & Autonomous Medical/Dental Colleges: Total 3,133 Seats
A total of 21 Government and Autonomous Medical & Dental Colleges in Madhya Pradesh are offering 3,133 seats for the 2026-27 academic session, distributed as follows:
- All India Quota: 468 seats
- GOI/Insured Person Quota: 47 seats
- State Quota: 2,618 seats
Within the State Quota, seats are further reserved under PwD (131), Sainik/Ex-Servicemen (79), Freedom Fighter (79), and Government School Students (131) categories, with the remaining 2,198 seats under Open (All Categories).
Top seat-holding institutes include:
- Gandhi Medical College, Bhopal – 250 seats
- Gajraraja Medical College, Gwalior – 250 seats
- Mahatma Gandhi Memorial Medical College, Indore – 250 seats
- Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose Medical College, Jabalpur – 250 seats

Major private medical colleges include People’s College of Medical Sciences Bhopal, LN Medical College Bhopal, Chirayu Medical College Bhopal, Sri Aurobindo Institute of Medical Sciences Indore, and Index Medical College Indore — each offering 250 seats.
Private Dental Colleges: 1,120 Seats Across 12 Institutes
Twelve private dental colleges are offering 1,120 BDS seats, of which 168 seats (15%) are reserved for NRI candidates, leaving 952 seats for State Level Combined Counselling, distributed as:
- Unreserved: 476
- ST: 191
- SC: 152
- OBC: 133
- PwD: 48
- GS quota: 48
Notable dental colleges include People’s Dental Academy Bhopal, Mansarovar Dental College Bhopal, Index Institute of Dental Science Indore, and Maharana Pratap College of Dentistry, Gwalior.
