NEET UG 2025 Expected Cutoff for MBBS, BDS Admission: Category-wise for GEN, OBC, SC, ST, EWS

NTA will release the NEET 2025 result and qualifying cutoff on June 14, with experts expecting lower cutoff scores due to the exam’s higher difficulty and reduced competition.

NEET 2025 Expected Cutoff: The National Testing Agency (NTA) will announce the NEET 2025 cutoff along with the exam result on June 14, 2025. This cutoff will serve as the qualifying mark for all candidates. After that, individual medical colleges and universities will release their specific NEET 2025 cutoffs for MBBS and BDS admissions during the counselling process, which the respective counselling authorities will manage.

NTA successfully conducted the NEET 2025 examination on May 4, 2025. Based on early feedback and analysis, the exam was more difficult compared to previous years. As a result, experts expect the cutoff scores for this year to be lower than those in 2024 and earlier.

Why the NEET 2025 Cutoff May Be Lower

Several key factors are likely to influence the cutoff for NEET 2025:

  1. Number of Candidates:
Around 20.8 lakh students appeared for NEET 2025, which is about 3 lakh fewer than last year. A smaller pool of candidates generally reduces competition.
  2. Exam Difficulty:
Compared to previous years, NEET 2025 had a tougher question paper. A more difficult exam typically results in a lower overall score range.
  3. Student Performance:
Due to the challenging nature of the paper, it is unlikely that the top scores will reach the full mark of 720. This will directly impact the cutoff.
  4. Available Seats:
For 2025, 1,17,950 MBBS seats and 27,868 BDS seats are available. The increase in MBBS seats may contribute to a slightly lower cutoff.
  5. Previous Year Trends:
In NEET 2024, the cutoff decreased slightly after a retest. With the 2025 paper being harder, a similar or greater drop is expected this year.
