NEET UG 2025: NTA Issues Last-Minute Instructions for Candidates

NTA has issued final guidelines for NEET UG 2025, including exam timing, dress code, required documents, and items allowed inside the exam hall.

New Delhi: The National Testing Agency (NTA) has released a set of important last-minute instructions for all candidates appearing for the NEET UG 2025 exam scheduled on Sunday, May 4, 2025. With over 23 lakh students registered this year, the NTA has urged candidates to strictly follow the guidelines to ensure a smooth and fair conduct of the examination.

Reporting Time & Entry Guidelines

Candidates must report to their exam centre between 11:00 AM and 1:30 PM. Entry to the exam hall will close sharply at 1:30 PM, and no candidate will be allowed after that, under any circumstances.

The NEET UG 2025 exam will be held from 2:00 PM to 5 PM.

Documents to Carry

Candidates must carry the following documents to the exam centre:

  1. NEET UG 2025 Admit Card – downloaded from the official NTA website.
  2. One passport-size photograph – same as the one used in the application form (for pasting on the attendance sheet).
  3. A valid photo ID proof – Aadhaar Card, PAN Card, Driving License, Passport, Voter ID, or any other government-issued ID.

It is advised to carry an extra copy of the admit card and photo ID for safety.

Dress Code Instructions

To maintain transparency and security, the NTA has enforced a strict dress code:

  • Boys: Wear light-colored half-sleeve shirts/t-shirts and trousers. Avoid pockets, zippers, big buttons, or badges.
  • Girls: Wear light clothes with no elaborate embroidery, no brooches, and no hairpins. Avoid full-sleeve clothes.
  • Footwear: Only slippers or sandals with low heels are allowed. Shoes are not permitted.

Candidates should avoid wearing jewellery, metal items, watches, or any electronic devices.

Items Allowed Inside the Exam Hall

Candidates are allowed to carry only the following items:

  • Admit Card with self-declaration (undertaking) printed on it
  • Valid photo ID
  • Transparent ballpoint pen (blue or black)
  • Transparent water bottle
  • Passport-size photograph
  • Hand sanitiser (50 ml, transparent bottle)

No electronic devices such as mobile phones, smartwatches, calculators, or Bluetooth devices are allowed.

COVID-19 Guidelines (if applicable)

Though general COVID-19 restrictions have eased, candidates are advised to maintain personal hygiene, wear a mask if needed, and avoid crowding at entry/exit gates.
