The Round 1 of NEET UG 2025 state quota counselling results for Rajasthan were released late Tuesday night. MBBS seats in both government and private medical colleges have been allotted under the 85% state quota.
According to the allotment list, the closing rank for a government college seat in the General category was 548 marks with All India Rank (AIR) 13,375. However, private and NRI quota seats were allotted at surprisingly low scores, even at 144 marks for General candidates and 113 marks for OBC candidates.
Government vs Private/NRI Seat Allotment
Many of these candidates had All India Ranks between 12 lakh and 13 lakh. While government seats remain affordable, private and NRI quota seats are at a very high cost.

- Government colleges (General category): Closing at 548 marks, AIR 13,375
- Private colleges (General category): Seat allotted at 144 marks (AIR 10,96,669)
- Private colleges (OBC category): Seat allotted at 113 marks (AIR 13,17,077)
- Government colleges (NRI quota): Seat allotted at 126 marks (General) and 120 marks (OBC)
This means students with 548 marks and students with just 120 marks will study in the same MBBS class, but with a massive difference in the fees they pay.
Skyrocketing Fees: Up to ₹1.80 Crore for MBBS
The fee gap is huge between general government seats and private/NRI seats.
- NRI quota fees (Government colleges): ₹1.50 crore to ₹1.65 crore for the entire MBBS course
- Additional living and miscellaneous costs: Around ₹15 lakh
- Total MBBS cost: Up to ₹1.80 crore for NRI candidates
In contrast, general category students in government colleges will pay just a fraction of this cost.
Case Examples from the Allotment
- A General candidate with 126 marks (AIR 12,19,937) secured an NRI seat at Bharatpur Medical College.
- An OBC candidate with 120 marks (AIR 12,57,354) secured an NRI seat at RNT Udaipur Medical College.
- A General candidate with 144 marks (AIR 10,96,669) secured a private medical college seat in Udaipur.
- An OBC candidate with 113 marks (AIR 13,17,077) secured a private medical college seat in Jaipur.
- A BDS seat was even allotted at AIR 13,18,596.
With more than 12.36 lakh candidates qualifying in NEET UG 2025, the counselling results highlight two extremes:
- High scorers (548 marks and above) get affordable government medical seats.
- Low scorers (120–144 marks) also get MBBS seats, but only in private and NRI categories at a cost touching ₹1.80 crore.
The sharp contrast shows how money has become the deciding factor for many students in securing an MBBS seat in Rajasthan.
