The National Medical Commission (NMC) has issued a public notice flagging 70 medical colleges and institutions across India that have failed to link their CCTV Network Video Recorder (NVR) systems with the Commission’s Command & Control Center, despite repeated advisories issued since 2022.

What the Notice Says
As per UGMSR-2023, PGMSR-2023 (Amendment) and MARB Regulations 2023, it is mandatory for all medical colleges to:
- Install 25 CCTV cameras at prescribed locations across the campus
- Install an NVR (Network Video Recorder) system
- Provide live CCTV feed access to the NMC Command & Control Center
- Maintain a minimum of 30 days’ video playback/storage
Despite continuous follow-up by the NMC IT team, the 70 colleges listed in the notice have not yet linked their NVR systems with the Commission.

- Students and parents researching admission to any of the above institutions can independently verify current compliance status directly with the respective college administration.
- Copies of the notice have also been sent to State/UT Directorates of Medical Education for necessary follow-up action.

The CCTV/NVR requirement stems from UGMSR-2023, PGMSR-2023 (Amendment) and MARB Regulations 2023, which mandate installation of 25 cameras at prescribed locations in every medical college, along with live feed access to NMC’s Command & Control Center and a minimum 30-day playback retention.
