Tamil Nadu NEET UG Counselling 2026: The Selection Committee under the Directorate of Medical Education and Research (DMER), Chennai, has issued an important notification for students aspiring to participate in the UG Medical and Dental Admissions 2026-27 counselling process.
With counselling expected to begin soon, candidates have been advised to keep all necessary documents ready in advance to ensure a smooth and hassle-free admission process.
Why This Notice Matters
The authority emphasized that early preparation of documents will help speed up the counselling process and prevent last-minute confusion or delays. The notice applies to candidates applying under:
- State quota seats in Government colleges
- Government quota seats in self-financing and private universities
- Management quota seats
- NRI quota seats
Documents Required for All Candidates
All applicants must keep the following documents ready:
- NEET UG 2026 Admit Card
- Class 10 Mark Sheet (Both side of the certificate)
- Class 11 Mark Sheet (Both side of the certificate)
- Class 12 (HSC) Mark Sheet or equivalent
- Transfer Certificate (after Class 12)
- Proof of study from Class 6 to 12 (for non-native Tamil Nadu candidates studying in the state)
- Community Certificate (if applicable)
- Nativity Certificate (if applicable)
- Parent’s documents for nativity/community claims
- Income Certificate (for fee exemption claims)
- Eligibility Certificate (for students from boards other than Tamil Nadu State Board, CBSE, or ICSE)
Additional Documents for Specific Categories
Management Quota (Minority Candidates)
- Linguistic Minority Certificate
- Religious Minority Certificate
NRI Quota Candidates
- NRI status certificate issued by the Indian Embassy or OCI card
- Proof of relationship with the financial sponsor
- Valid passport of the sponsor
- NRE bank account passbook of the sponsor
7.5% Government School Quota
- Students who passed Class 12 before 2022-23 must submit a bonafide certificate proving study in government schools from Classes 6 to 12.
- Students from 2022-23 onwards are exempt, as verification will be done via the EMIS portal.

The Selection Committee clarified that this notice is only for document preparation and does not indicate the counselling schedule. The official counselling dates will be announced separately.
