The Selection Committee, Directorate of Medical Education & Research (DME), Tamil Nadu, has announced that the last date to submit applications for MBBS and BDS admissions for the 2026-27 academic session is July 23, 2026, up to 5:00 PM. The notification was issued on July 17, 2026, from the Selection Committee office in Kilpauk, Chennai.
Application Timeline
The list of documents required for the UG medical application was published on April 28, and the application window opened on June 29, giving candidates ample time to apply. Following the declaration of NEET UG results on July 16, the Committee has kept the application window open for one additional week.
So far, the Tamil Nadu Medical Selection Committee has received over 41,000 completed applications.
No Extension Expected
The Committee has clarified that there will be no extension to the application deadline. This decision takes into account the time required for:
- Scrutiny of all submitted applications
- Publication of the list of ineligible candidates
- A Grievance Redressal window for candidates found ineligible during scrutiny
- The compressed timeline expected for UG medical counselling to be conducted by the DGHS
Advisory for Candidates
Candidates who have not yet applied are advised to complete and submit their applications well before the deadline to avoid last-minute technical issues or errors.
