Tamil Nadu NEET UG Round 2 Counselling Schedule 2026 Released

The Directorate of Medical Education & Research (DME), Chennai has released the tentative schedule for Round 2 counselling for admission to MBBS and BDS degree courses for the 2026-2027 academic session. This round covers seats in Tamil Nadu Government Medical/Dental Colleges, ESIC Medical College (K.K. Nagar, Chennai), Government Quota seats in Self-Financing Medical/Dental Colleges, and State Private Universities.

Candidates who did not receive a seat in Round 1, along with those seeking upgradation, must register and participate in this round.

Note: Choice locking will be enabled only after 12-09-2026, 10:00 AM, since All India Quota results are expected on 11-09-2026.

Who Should Register for Round 2?

• Candidates who did not get a seat allotted in Round 1
• Candidates who joined a seat and opted for upgradation during admission (their seats will automatically appear as virtual vacancies – no need to re-register)
• Candidates who selected “No” for upgradation earlier but now wish to upgrade must log in during the registration window to confirm participation
• Candidates who wish to retain their current seat need not participate

Key Instructions for Round 2 Counselling

1. Candidates opting for upgradation in Round 2 must relinquish their Round 1 seat and join the new allotted seat – they lose rights over the Round 1 seat.
2. Choices, once locked, cannot be edited.
3. If not locked by the deadline (13-09-2026, 2:00 PM), choices will be automatically locked.
4. Round 1 seats vacated due to upgradation will be re-allotted to other candidates in descending order (not ascending).
5. Original certificates must be produced in person at the allotted college for verification at the time of joining.
6. Failure to report by the specified date will result in cancellation of selection/admission without further notice.
7. No direct communication will be sent to candidates – they must regularly check the official website: www.tnmedicalselection.org
