Assam Directorate of Medical Education (DME) has extended the online choice filling window for the 1st round of NEET UG counselling 2026 for admission into MBBS/BDS courses in Government Medical & Dental Colleges of Assam. The extension comes after the addition of Bongaigaon Medical College, Bongaigaon to the state’s list of medical colleges.
According to the official notice issued on August 28, 2026, by Prof. (Dr.) M. K. Choudhury, Director of Medical Education, Assam, candidates can now fill and modify their choices at the
official website www.dme.assam.gov.in.

Key Highlights
- A revised Seat Matrix has been uploaded following the inclusion of Bongaigaon Medical College.
- All previously locked choices have been reopened for every candidate, allowing them to modify preferences before the final locking.
- Choices not locked manually by candidates will be automatically locked after 11:55 PM on 30.08.2026.
- Provisionally selected candidates must report and complete admission formalities at their allotted institutions on 04.09.2026 or 05.09.2026.
