MCC NEET UG Counselling 2025: The Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) Round 1 choice filling is over, and the final seat allotment list will be released on 11 August. Soon, MCC will open registration for NEET UG 2025 Counselling Round 2. It is crucial for candidates who either did not participate in Round 1, were not allotted a seat, or wish to upgrade from their previous allotment.
MCC conducts Round 2 of NEET UG Counselling for candidates seeking admission to MBBS, BDS, and B.Sc. Nursing courses under the 15% All India Quota (AIQ), Central Universities, AIIMS, JIPMER, AMU, BHU, and Deemed Universities.
NEET UG 2025 candidates should also weigh in on MCC 2025 Round 2 vs state counselling, and which is better for their rank.

MCC NEET UG Counselling 2025 Round 2 Guide
Below is the step-by-step process and important rules for Round 2.
Who Needs to Register for Round 2?
No Fresh Registration Required for:
- Candidates who registered in Round 1 but were not allotted any seat.
- Candidates who were allotted a seat in Round 1 but did not report to the college (they remain eligible without new registration).
Fresh Registration Required for:
- Candidates who did not register in Round 1 at all.
- Registration in Round 2 requires full payment of counselling fees (registration + security deposit).

Fresh Choice Filling and Locking
- All eligible candidates, whether newly registered or already in the system, must fill fresh choices for Round 2.
- Choices from Round 1 do not carry forward.
- Once satisfied, candidates must lock their choices before the deadline; otherwise, the last saved choices will be auto-locked.

Seat Allotment Process for Round-2
The MCC conducts seat allotment based on:
- NEET UG rank
- Filled choices
- Seat availability after Round 1
- Reservation rules and seat matrix
The MCC Seat Processing is done in an automated algorithm so it becomes important to fully go through the MCC Choice Filling Guide to successfully devise the right strategy based on your rank.
Once allotment is done, the Round 2 result is published on the MCC website.

Physical Reporting at Allotted College
Candidates allotted a seat in Round 2 must report physically to the allotted medical/dental/nursing college with original documents.
During reporting, candidates can opt for ‘Willingness to Upgrade’ for Round 3.
- This option keeps them eligible for Round 3 while securing the Round-2 seat.
- Upgradation is subject to seat availability in Round 3.
Upgradation and Relieving Rules
If a candidate gets upgraded in Round-2:
- They must take relieving from the Round-1 seat.
- They must join the Round 2 allotted college.
Once upgraded, no claim can be made on the previous Round 1 seat.
Seat Non-Joining and Forfeiture
If a candidate is allotted a seat in Round 2 but fails to join:
- The security deposit will be forfeited.
- They will be ineligible for further rounds unless rules specify otherwise.
Direct Entry to Round 3 for Unallotted Candidates
- If a freshly registered Round 2 candidate does not get a seat, they can directly participate in Round 3 without fresh registration.
Important Notes:
- B.Sc. Nursing seats are also included in this round for AIIMS and certain central institutes.
- AIQ Round 2 rules apply equally to Central Universities (BHU, AMU), AIIMS, JIPMER, and Deemed Universities.
- Always download and keep a copy of the allotment letter from the MCC portal before reporting.
Document for Physical Reporting
- NEET UG Admit Card
- NEET UG Score Card
- Allotment Letter (Round 2)
- 10th & 12th Mark Sheets and Passing Certificates
- Category Certificate (if applicable)
- Identity Proof (Aadhaar, Passport, etc.)
- Passport-size photographs (same as NEET form)
- Security deposit payment proof (if applicable)
Round 2 is the last chance before Round 3 to secure seats in AIQ, AIIMS, JIPMER, and other central institutions with relatively better chances of getting a desired college.
Candidates must choose the right strategy in MCC choice filling, mindful of deadlines, and serious about reporting, as non-joining will result in security deposit loss and reduced future opportunities.
