MP AYUSH UG Admission Rules 2026: Eligibility, Fees & More

The AYUSH Department, Government of Madhya Pradesh, has notified the “Madhya Pradesh Ayurveda, Homeopathy and Unani Undergraduate Admission Rules” vide notification No. F-AYU/0115/2026-CLG-AYUSH, published in the MP Gazette (Issue No. 263) dated August 17, 2026. These rules govern admission to undergraduate courses at government, government-aided, and private Ayurveda, Homeopathy, and Unani colleges across the state.

Courses Covered

The rules apply to admission in:

• BAMS (Bachelor of Ayurvedic Medicine and Surgery)
• BHMS (Bachelor of Homeopathic Medicine and Surgery)
• BUMS (Bachelor of Unani Medicine and Surgery)

Admissions are governed under NCISM (National Commission for Indian System of Medicine), NCH (National Commission for Homeopathy), and the relevant university/state statutes, and apply to all recognized colleges – 3 government (self-financed) colleges (Ayurveda in Bhopal, Burhanpur, Gwalior, Indore, Jabalpur, Rewa, and Ujjain; Homeopathy in Bhopal; Unani in Bhopal), plus private-sector AYUSH colleges across MP.

Eligibility Criteria

• Candidates must qualify NEET conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA).
• Minimum NEET percentile required: 50th percentile for Unreserved/EWS category, 45th percentile for General/EWS PwD candidates, and 40th percentile for ST/SC/OBC and their PwD sub-categories (as per NCISM and National Commission for Homeopathy directives dated February 16, 2022, February 28, 2022, and December 6, 2022).
• For BUMS, candidates must additionally have studied Urdu, Arabic, or Persian as a subject in Class 10 or 12, or complete supplementary Urdu/Arabic language study during the first professional year if not already qualified.
• Candidates must have completed 17 years of age by December 31 of the admission year.

Seat Categories and Reservation

Seats are divided into:

• All India Quota (AIQ): Reserved seats in private colleges filled through centralized counseling; these seats are open to all-category and domicile-free candidates, subject to the reverted-AIQ-seat provision for seats vacated post-centralized counseling.
• State Quota: Filled through State-level counseling for MP domicile candidates in government and private colleges.

Reservation Categories (State Quota)

Reservation follows MP government norms for SC, ST, OBC, EWS, and Unreserved categories, along with horizontal reservation for:

• Divyang (PwD): 6% seats, category-wise, per prescribed disability certification norms -certain disabilities (both-hand, both-leg, visual, and hearing disabilities beyond specified limits) are not eligible.
• Sainik (Defense) category: 3% seats reserved for children of servicemen/ex-servicemen.
• Freedom Fighter descendants: 3% seats reserved for children/grandchildren of MP-registered freedom fighters.
• Women: 33% horizontal reservation across all categories.

Documents and Certificates Required

Candidates must submit caste certificates, income certificates (where applicable), local residency (domicile) certificates, disability certificates from a district medical board, defense-service certificates, and freedom-fighter certificates – using the prescribed proformas (Proforma 1 through 10) annexed with the notification, including affidavits for gap years and self-declared income where applicable.

Counseling Process

Counseling is conducted through the online portal https://ayush.mponline.gov.in, with registration fee of ₹600 and additional choice-filling/locking fee of ₹50. The process includes:

2. Second Round
3. Third Round
4. Stray Vacancy Round

Key features:

• Candidates allotted a seat with a “Satisfied” option must complete admission at the allotted college; those opting for “Upgradation” remain eligible for subsequent rounds but risk losing their earlier seat if they fail to fill fresh choices in time.
• Seats vacated due to non-reporting are carried forward to subsequent rounds.
• From the Third Round onward, seat allotment becomes final, with no further upgradation option available.
• Stray Vacancy Round seats are allotted strictly based on merit and choice-filling, with no scope for fresh applications once the round concludes.

Private college fees are governed separately by the Fee Regulatory Committee / MP Private University Regulatory Commission and must be verified by candidates directly with respective colleges before choice-locking.

Fee Refund Policy

Candidates withdrawing their admission online up to the third counseling round will receive a refund of the deposited tuition fee minus a 10% deduction (maximum ₹10,000). No refund is applicable for withdrawals after the third round; only the caution money will be refunded.

Important Points for Candidates

• MP domicile status is mandatory for State Quota seat eligibility, verified through a local residency certificate as per prevailing state guidelines.
• Merit lists are prepared strictly based on NEET scores, and admission requires medical fitness certification from a government-authorized medical officer.
• Any candidate found to have concealed facts, submitted false information, or been involved in serious criminal cases may have their admission cancelled at any stage.
• Candidates are advised to regularly check the official website www.ayush.mp.gov.in and portal https://ayush.mponline.gov.in for the counseling schedule, seat matrix, and further notifications.

The rules received the assent of the Governor of Madhya Pradesh and were issued under the order of Sanjay Kumar Mishra, Deputy Secretary, AYUSH Department, Government of Madhya Pradesh.
