If you appeared in NEET UG 2026 and are waiting for your examination fee refund, this is urgent news for you. The National Testing Agency (NTA) has issued a public notice on June 25, 2026 giving candidates one last opportunity to confirm, correct, or update their bank account details on the official portal. The window closes on June 30, 2026 at 11:55 PM, and no requests will be accepted after that.

Why Is NTA Refunding the NEET UG Exam Fee?

The NEET (UG) 2026 examination was originally scheduled for 03 May 2026 but had to be cancelled. NTA had committed to refunding the exam fee to all registered candidates in light of that cancellation.

Later, NTA successfully conducted the rescheduled NEET UG 2026 examination on 21 June 2026 across the country. Around 20 lakh candidates appeared in this exam. NTA is currently finalising the results, which will be declared soon.

To ensure the refund reaches every eligible student, NTA had asked candidates to submit their bank account details on a dedicated portal. However, not everyone could complete this process and now NTA is providing one final chance to do so.

Who Needs to Act Now?

This notice is important for three groups of candidates:

  • Those who could not update their bank account details earlier
  • Those who entered incorrect bank account numbers or IFSC codes
  • Those who had earlier selected “No Refund” but now want to change their choice and receive the money

According to NTA, approximately 19 lakh candidates have already confirmed their bank details. A small number of students are still pending, and this window is specifically for them.

Important Warnings from NTA

NTA has shared some critical advisories that every candidate must keep in mind:

  • The refund will be transferred strictly to the bank account details you provide. NTA will not be responsible if the money goes to a wrong account due to incorrect entries.
  • The bank account must be active and in the name of the candidate, their parents, or a family member (or in the candidate’s joint name).
  • Never share your login credentials, OTP, or bank details with anyone. NTA will never call or message you asking for these.
  • Any requests for changes after the window closes on June 30 will not be entertained under any circumstances.
