Jaipur: The NEET UG MBBS & BDS Admission/Counselling Board 2025, Rajasthan, has issued an important advisory for students and institutions regarding fee practices during admissions.
Referring to a judgment of the Rajasthan High Court (Jodhpur) dated May 31, 2021, the Board reiterated that private and government medical institutions are not allowed to collect advance fees beyond one academic year or demand bank guarantees for the full duration of the course.
The High Court had clearly directed:
- Institutions cannot charge any advance fee apart from the fee for one year.
- No student should be forced to provide a bank guarantee for the entire course duration.
- However, institutions may seek a bond or bank guarantee in specific cases, but only as permitted under the Supreme Court’s guidelines in the Islamic Academy case.
The Counselling Board has advised all students that if any institution makes such demands during NEET UG 2025 counselling, the matter should be reported immediately to the Board.
