The Directorate of Medical Education & Research (DME), Chennai, has released the Round 1 online counselling schedule for admission to MBBS and BDS degree courses for the 2026-2027 session. The schedule covers admissions to Tamil Nadu Government Medical & Dental Colleges, ESIC Medical College K.K. Nagar, Government and Management Quota seats (including NRI and Minority) in Self-Financing Medical & Dental Colleges, State Private Universities, Christian Medical College Vellore, and wards of IRT candidates.
Candidates can register, fill and lock their choices from August 13 to August 19, 2026.

Rank and NEET Score Range for Round 1
For Government Quota (GQ), candidates with ranks from GR 001 to GR 35926, corresponding to NEET scores between 705 and 177, are eligible to participate. For Management Quota (MQ), the eligible rank range is GR 001 to GR 26956, covering NEET scores from 693 to 177.
Registration Fee and Security Deposit
- Registration fee: Rs. 500 for Government Quota, Rs. 1,000 for Management Quota (non-refundable)
- Security deposit for Government Quota seats in Self-Financing Medical & Dental Colleges and State Private Universities: Rs. 30,000 (Nil for Government Medical/Dental Colleges)
- Security deposit for Management Quota, including Minority/NRI seats, in Self-Financing Medical & Dental Colleges and State Private Universities: Rs. 1,00,000
- SC/SCA/ST and Converts to Christianity from Scheduled Caste (SCC) candidates with annual income below Rs. 2.5 lakh are exempted from the security deposit
Steps for Choice Filling and Locking
- Log in to the official portal using the registered credentials
- Pay the applicable registration fee and security deposit
- Review the seat matrix before filling choices
- Fill choices for all courses and quotas applied for, in order of preference
- Choices can be edited any number of times before locking
- Lock choices before the deadline; unlocked choices are auto-locked after 19-08-2026, 5:00 PM
Points to Note
- Once choices are locked, editing is not permitted
- Change of course (MBBS to BDS or vice versa) or college is not allowed after final locking
- MBBS seat holders (all colleges) and BDS seat holders in Government Dental Colleges must pay tuition fee online to download the provisional allotment order
- BDS seat holders in Self-Financing Dental Colleges must pay tuition fee directly at the college at the time of admission
- Original certificates must be produced in person at the allotted college for verification
- Selection Committee will not individually contact candidates; updates must be tracked on the official website
