UP NEET UG Round 1 Seat Allotment Result 2026 Out: PDF Download at upneet.gov.in

The Directorate General of Medical Education and Training (DGME), Uttar Pradesh, is releasing the Round 1 seat allotment result for UP NEET UG counselling 2026 today, September 7, on the official portal upneet.gov.in. The result covers admission to MBBS and BDS seats under the 85 per cent state quota in government and private medical and dental colleges across Uttar Pradesh for the 2026-27 academic session.

Candidates allotted a seat can download the allotment letter from September 8 and must report to their allotted college or nodal centre between September 8 and September 14, 2026.

The Round 1 merit list was published on September 2 for 31,653 candidates, and the seat matrix for MBBS and BDS courses was displayed alongside it. Registration for Round 1 was held from August 7 to 14, and the window was reopened from September 1 to 2, 2026. Choice filling closed on September 5.

How to check the UP NEET UG seat allotment result 2026

Step 1 – Open the portal: Visit upneet.gov.in and locate the Round 1 result or allotment link on the homepage.

Step 2 – Select the course: Choose “UG (NEET MBBS/BDS)” from the course dropdown.

Step 3 – Enter your credentials: Fill in your NEET UG roll number and NEET application number.

Step 4 – Complete the captcha: Enter the security code displayed on screen.

Step 5 – Get the result: Click “Get Result” to view your allotted college, course, category and nodal centre.

Step 6 – Download the letter: Save and print the allotment letter once the PDF becomes available from September 8, 2026.

Candidates should verify every field on the letter before reporting, since errors are far easier to correct at the nodal centre than after admission. The letter typically carries the candidate’s name, roll number and application number, NEET UG rank and category, the allotted college and course, the allotment round, the quota under which the seat was granted, the nodal centre for verification, and the reporting deadline.

Who is eligible for allotment

Only candidates who registered, paid the security money and locked their choices within the deadline were considered for Round 1 allotment. Choices that were saved but not locked are generally excluded from the allotment process. The non-refundable registration fee for UP NEET counselling 2026 was set at ₹2,000, in addition to the refundable security deposit.

Freeze, float and slide: what each option means

After reporting, candidates must choose how they want to be treated in the next round. The choice is binding and cannot be reversed once submitted.

• Freeze – The candidate accepts the allotted seat and withdraws from further rounds. No upgrade will be considered.
• Float – The candidate accepts the current seat but stays in the running for any college or course higher in their preference list. If a better seat is allotted, the earlier one is automatically released.
• Slide – The candidate accepts the current seat and remains eligible for an upgrade within the same college only, typically to a higher-preference course.

Candidates opting for float or slide should be clear that an upgrade is automatic. If a higher preference is allotted in the next round, the earlier seat is forfeited and cannot be reclaimed.

What if no seat is allotted in Round 1

Non-allotment in Round 1 does not end the process. Uttar Pradesh conducts three rounds of state counselling for MBBS and BDS, followed by a mop-up or stray vacancy stage as required. Candidates who go unallotted remain eligible for the next round and should watch for fresh registration or choice-filling windows, since vacancies shift substantially after Round 1 reporting closes.

The most common reasons for non-allotment are a short choice list, a preference order weighted entirely toward top colleges, failure to lock choices before the deadline, and non-payment of the security amount within the window.

Points candidates often get wrong

Reporting late is the single most costly error. A seat allotted in Round 1 stands cancelled if the candidate does not report by September 14, and the security deposit may be forfeited depending on the stage at which the candidate exits.

Candidates should also avoid treating the allotment letter as final admission. Admission is confirmed only after document verification at the nodal centre and payment of the institutional fee at the allotted college.
