Buryat State University, named after Dorzhi Banzarov (BSU), began its history on February 10, 1932, and Buryat State University was established on September 30, 1995, when by the Decree of the Council of People’s Commissars of the RSFSR in the city of Verkhneudinsk, the Buryat-Mongolian Agro-Pedagogical Institute was opened.
