Major Changes in NEET UG 2025 Exam

  • Significant changes have been made for the NEET UG 2025 examination. Over 23 lakh candidates have registered for the exam scheduled to be held on May 4. In terms of gender ratio, more than 55% of the applicants are female students.
  • This examination is being conducted for approximately 1,18,190 MBBS seats, 26,000 dental seats, and around 2,40,000 seats across other courses such as Homeopathy, Veterinary, Ayurveda, Unani, and Nursing.

Major Change in NEET UG Question Paper Pattern

  • Exam Duration Reduced: Earlier, the NEET UG exam was conducted for 3 hours and 20 minutes (until 2024). However, in NEET UG 2025, the exam duration has been reduced to just 1 hour.
  • Change in Total Number of Questions: Previously, the paper included a total of 200 questions, divided into Section A and Section B.

Section A Pattern (Old):

  • Chemistry: 35 questions
  • Biology: 70 questions

Section B Pattern (Old):

  • Physics: 15 questions (attempt any 10)
  • Chemistry: 15 questions (attempt any 10)
  • Biology: 30 questions (attempt any 20)

Updated Format: The updated format introduces significant structural changes, including a shorter duration and possible alterations in the number and type of questions (exact new pattern details may vary and should be checked on NTA’s official website).

Changes in NEET UG 2025 Exam Pattern

In NEET UG 2025, the exam pattern has undergone major changes. The paper will now consist of a total of 180 questions. The earlier format of Section A and Section B has been completely removed, and all questions will be compulsory to attempt. The subject-wise distribution will include 45 questions each in Physics and Chemistry, and 90 questions in Biology. This new pattern is similar to the exam structure followed in NEET UG 2020 and earlier editions.
