E-Bank Guarantee Mandatory for Approved Colleges
As per the notice, all Private Medical Colleges that have received approval for a new college or an increase in intake capacity must furnish an Electronic Bank Guarantee (E-Bank Guarantee) to the Director, MARB, within seven days of the notice being issued. Details of the guarantee must also be shared via email with MARB. The Letter of Permission (LoP) will be granted only after the guarantee is submitted and verified.
No Admissions Beyond Approved Seats
The NMC has directed all medical colleges to strictly restrict admissions to the number of seats approved and notified in the Seat Matrix. It has further clarified that:
- Counselling Committees cannot permit admissions beyond the approved seat count under any circumstances.
- Any discrepancy noticed by a Counselling Committee must be referred to MARB for clarification before counselling begins.
- Colleges are advised to verify their own seat details and report any error or omission immediately to the President or Director, MARB.
- Any admission made in excess of the approved intake will be treated as a violation of the National Medical Commission Act, 2019, and may attract regulatory and penal action.
Subject to Revision
The NMC has noted that the Seat Matrix may undergo revision based on decisions by the Appeal Committee or any other competent authority. Any revised matrix will be uploaded to the official NMC website and will be considered by Central and State Counselling Committees for admissions.
