What Is This Re-Examination?
NEET UG is the national entrance test for students who want to study medicine, such as MBBS or BDS in India. It is conducted by the NTA every year.
This re-examination is being held for candidates who were affected by issues in an earlier attempt. The NTA has confirmed that all preparations are in place for a smooth, fair, and secure exam on 21 June.
Massive Security Setup Across All Centres
The NTA has put in place a very strong security system for this exam. Here is what has been arranged:
| Security Measure | Details |
|---|---|
| City Coordinators | 674 officials managing city-level operations |
| Independent Observers | 6,669 observers deployed at exam centres |
| Total Personnel | Over 2 lakh officials mobilised nationwide |
| Question Paper Transport | GPS-tracked vehicles with police escort |
| Surveillance | CCTV cameras at all centres, linked to central control rooms |
| Identity Verification | Aadhaar-based biometric authentication at entry |
| Checking at Entry | High-sensitivity metal detectors at every centre |
In addition to all this, the NTA is actively monitoring social media for fake news and rumours about question paper leaks. Complaints have already been filed with cyber-crime authorities, including I4C, MHA, and CBI. Strict action is being taken against those spreading misinformation.
What If Your Biometric Verification Fails?
Some students worry – what if the fingerprint scanner does not read my fingerprint properly?
The NTA has a clear answer: you will not be denied entry.
If your biometric verification cannot be completed – due to a technical problem, a connectivity issue with the UIDAI system, or any physical difficulty with your fingerprints you will be asked to sign a written undertaking at the centre. After signing, you will be allowed to sit the exam without any disruption. Your identity will then be confirmed manually using your valid ID documents.

- Power backup (including generators) at all centres
- Adequate lighting and fans throughout exam halls
- A wall clock in every exam room so students can track time
- Drinking water, clean washrooms, and on-site medical support
- Diabetic students may carry sugar tablets and fruits (banana, apple, or orange) along with a transparent water bottle
Important Instructions for Students
Here is what every student must do before and on exam day:
Before the exam:

- Read the dress code and list of allowed items on neet.nta.nic.in carefully.
- Plan your travel in advance, keeping traffic and weather in mind.
What to carry:
- Printed copy of your admit card
- One original valid photo ID (Aadhaar, driving licence, passport, etc.)

What NOT to carry:
