SMIMS MBBS Admission 2026 Stray Round Counselling Schedule Released

The Department of Education, Government of Sikkim, has released the online counselling schedule for the stray round of MBBS admission 2026 at SMIMS (Sikkim Manipal Institute of Medical Sciences). The schedule is given in Annexure-II of the notice dated 13 October 2026. Choice filling takes place on 14 October 2026, and candidates must report physically by 26 October 2026.

Step-by-step process

1. Step 1, choice filling: The choice filling window is from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM on 14 October 2026.
2. Step 2, scrutiny: The Counselling Committee, chaired by the Chairperson from the Government of Sikkim, will scrutinise the online forms on 15 October 2026.
3. Step 3, result: The result will be published online on 18 October 2026.
4. Step 4, fee payment: Fees are to be paid from 18 October 2026. The notice’s Step 4 text gives the end date as 19 October, while the schedule table shows 20 October (see the note below).
5. Step 5, physical reporting: Candidates must report physically by 26 October 2026.

Important note on seat allotment

The notice states that the seat allotment is provisional and will be confirmed only on physical reporting of candidates and physical verification of documents. Candidates should carry all original documents when they report.

What should candidates do?

• Fill choices on the counselling portal only on 14 October 2026 between 9:00 AM and 5:00 PM. There is just one day for this stage.
• Check the result online on 18 October 2026.
• Pay the fees within the payment window, starting 18 October 2026.
• Report physically at the institute with original documents on or before 26 October 2026.
• Follow the official notices of the Department of Higher and Technical Education, Government of Sikkim, for any changes.
