About Department of Higher & Technical Education, Government of Mizoram
To upgrade the standards and facilitate the functioning of Higher and Technical Education in Mizoram, the Directorate has to implement various schemes, such as the upgradation of colleges according to UGC Norms in staffing patterns, upgrading private colleges with aid from local stations. Local uniformity of standards among colleges is ensured, and financial assistance, including recurring and non-recurring grants, is provided to Colleges. Financial aid is also available to the students for specific purposes, etc. It has also established and looked after Collegiate Hostels in various places in and outside the State.
Beyond that, some other colleges and universities are not governed by the Department of Higher & Technical Education in Mizoram.
