Both candidates recorded the highest score in NEET UG 2026, sharing the top All India Rank this year with an identical percentile score. Their combined score is 29 marks higher than last year’s topper score of 686, when an unusually tough paper meant no candidate crossed 700 marks in 2025.

- A student from Ludhiana, Aryan studied for nearly 16 to 17 hours every day during his preparation, occasionally sacrificing sleep to stick to his routine

- Speaking after the result, Aryan said securing AIR 1 “feels like a dream,” adding that his focus was on giving his best rather than fixating on a specific rank

- Panshul matched Aryan Gupta’s score of 715/720 to jointly claim the top rank nationwide

Study Reveals Key Trends Among Top Scorers
- 19 candidates scored above 700 marks out of 720
- 138 candidates scored above 690 marks
- 1,492 candidates scored 650 marks or above
- 10,160 candidates scored 600 marks or above
- Over 93% of the 138 top scorers were appearing for NEET for the first time
- Nearly 99% of these candidates belonged to the 17–19 years age group
- Maharashtra had the highest representation among the top 138 rank holders, with 22 candidates
- The Top 17 candidates, each scoring above 705 marks, represented 8 states: Punjab, Haryana, Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, Maharashtra, Bihar, Tamil Nadu, and Telangana
- These top performers were spread across 66 cities nationwide
- More than 58% of all qualified candidates nationwide were women
- Female candidates recorded a higher qualification rate (56.8%) than male candidates (55.1%)

NTA also released state-wise topper data, with candidates emerging from every state and union territory:
- Jigmet Yangchan Lamo – Ladakh, 530 marks
- Dhruv Tripathi – Andaman and Nicobar Islands, 606 marks
- Fahmida Anees – Lakshadweep, 573 marks
- Every North-Eastern state also produced its own state topper this year

Results Declared Ahead of Counselling Schedule
The NEET UG 2026 results were declared in time to keep the medical admission and counselling calendar on track for MBBS, BDS, AYUSH and other undergraduate medical programmes. Qualified candidates can now proceed to the next stage of counselling for seat allotment through MCC (All India Quota) and respective state counselling authorities (state quota).
