Choice Filling & Free Exit Rules (Round 1)
- Candidates must fill choices only for colleges/courses they are genuinely willing to join, arranged strictly in order of preference
- Once choices are locked, they cannot be modified or rearranged – DGME UP will not entertain requests for changes to locked choices
- Candidates who fail to lock their choices will be automatically removed from the seat allotment process
- Candidates allotted a seat in Round 1 will be provided a free-exit facility – if admission is not taken after Round 1 allotment, the security deposit will be refunded
- Candidates allotted seats in government colleges must complete admission formalities at the respective allotted institute
Tips for Filling Choices Wisely
- Research each college’s fee structure, location, and infrastructure before adding it to your list
- Arrange choices strictly by genuine preference – the system allots the highest-ranked choice available, not the “safest” one
- Avoid listing colleges you are unwilling to join purely to keep options open, since choices cannot be edited once locked
- Keep a copy of your locked choices for reference before the allotment result is declared
How to Check UP NEET UG Seat Allotment Result
- Visit the official website: upneet.gov.in
- Log in using your registered credentials (roll number/application number and password)
- Navigate to the “Seat Allotment Result” or “Round 1 Result” section once declared
- Download the provisional seat allotment letter as a PDF
- Verify the allotted college, course, and category details carefully before proceeding to reporting
Withdrawal & Refund Policy
Candidates who wish to exit the counselling process or upgrade their allotted seat should keep the following in mind:
- Freeze: Accepting and freezing an allotted seat generally ends further participation in later rounds
- Float/Upgrade: Candidates can choose to float their allotted seat to remain eligible for an upgrade in the next round, subject to availability and merit
- Withdrawal Window: A limited withdrawal window is typically provided after early rounds, during which the security deposit may be refunded; withdrawing after this window, or after reporting to a college, usually results in forfeiture of the deposit
- Candidates should always check the exact freeze/float/withdrawal rules in the official DGME UP notification for 2026, as these can be revised from the previous cycle
Documents Required
Candidates allotted a seat in UP NEET UG 2026 Counselling must carry the following documents to complete admission formalities:

After Receiving Your Allotment Letter
- Pay Fees: Follow the instructions in the letter and on the university website to pay the centralized advance tuition fee
- Report to College: Visit the allotted college in person within the specified timeframe, carrying all original documents
Common Mistakes to Avoid During Registration
- Entering incorrect NEET roll number or application number at login, which can block access to the account
- Using a mobile number or email ID not regularly checked, since all official communication is sent only to the registered contact details
