As per the latest official updates, the original NEET UG 2026 examination was held on 03 May 2026 in offline (Pen & Paper) mode. Following government directions, a re-examination was conducted on 21 June 2026 for eligible candidates. The result was declared on 16 July 2026, and counselling through the Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) and respective state authorities is now underway, with several states having released their Round 1 seat matrix, allotment, and reporting schedules.

The examination is conducted as a single national entrance test for admission to undergraduate medical courses, including MBBS, BDS, BAMS, BSMS, BUMS, BHMS, and other approved medical programmes in government, private, and deemed universities, AIIMS, JIPMER, and other recognized institutions across India, in accordance with the National Medical Commission (NMC) Act, 2019, and applicable regulations.

NEET UG 2026 was conducted in 13 languages to ensure accessibility for students across the country: English, Hindi, Assamese, Bengali, Gujarati, Kannada, Malayalam, Marathi, Odia, Punjabi, Tamil, Telugu, and Urdu.

About NTA

The Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD), now known as the Ministry of Education (MoE), Government of India, established the National Testing Agency (NTA) as an independent, autonomous, and self-sustained premier testing organization under the Societies Registration Act (1860), for conducting efficient, transparent, and internationally standardized tests to assess candidates’ competency for admission to premier higher education institutions.

The NEET UG 2026 admit card was released on 06 June 2026 on the official portal. To download it:

  1. Visit the official website: neet.nta.nic.in.
  2. Click on the “NEET (UG) – 2026 Admit Card” link under the Candidate Activity section.
  3. Log in using your Application Number and Date of Birth / Password, along with the security PIN shown on the screen.
  4. The admit card will display on the screen; verify your name, roll number, exam centre, and photograph carefully.
  5. Download and take a clear printout; carry it with a valid original photo ID to the exam centre.

The NEET UG 2026 result was declared on 16 July 2026. Steps to check and download your scorecard:

  1. Go to neet.nta.nic.in.
  2. Click on “View NEET-UG 2026 Result” under the Candidate Activity section.
  3. Enter your Application Number, Date of Birth/Password, and the security PIN.
  4. Your scorecard, showing marks, All India Rank (AIR), category rank, and percentile, will appear on the screen.

The Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) conducts counselling for 15% All India Quota (AIQ) seats and 100% seats in deemed universities, central institutions, AFMC, AIIMS, and JIPMER (Puducherry & Karaikal), while individual states run their own counselling for state-quota and private-college seats.

MCC revised the Round 1 schedule on 13 August 2026 and released the detailed seat matrix – a total of 31,728 seats are available for Round 1 across MBBS, BDS, and BSc Nursing:

    When will likely to publish shceme for residential education in high schools in targeted Area ( shreshta nets 2023-24) online application form submit. Because last year had published 12 March to 14 April to sumbit online application form invited national.testing agency by their websites. Now this current year still not now publish. Inform me plz
