NEET Merit List 2026: The National Testing Agency (NTA) has officially announced the NEET UG 2026 result on June 14, 2026, along with the merit list and category-wise cutoff marks. Candidates can now check their individual scores and ranks on the official website. Based on the NEET UG 2026 scores, NTA has prepared the merit list which will be used for counselling and seat allotment under the 15% All India Quota (AIQ), 85% state quota, as well as for seats in AIIMS, JIPMER, deemed and central universities and ESIC/AFMS institutes.
This year, the cutoff for the General category is 144–686, while for SC/ST/OBC it is 113–143. Over 12 lakh candidates have qualified for the next round. Students who meet the qualifying cutoff will now be eligible to participate in the counselling process, where seat allotment will be based on their NEET UG rank and preferences.

Tie-Breaking For NEET Rank List 2026
If a situation arises with two or more applicants having the same rank, tie-breaking is needed. Here are some rules for tie-breaking.
- Applicants with higher marks in biology will be given high ranks and preferred.
- If the tie still exists, a candidate with higher marks in chemistry will be given preference.
- If the tie does not break, the applicant with fewer negative marks will be prioritised.
- And if the problem still lies, the older applicant will be preferred.
How is the NEET Merit List Compiled
The NEET 2026 Rank List compilation follows the guidelines directed by the National Medical Commission and the Dental Council of India.
- The eligibility is laid out as per the Graduate Medical Education Regulations 1997.
- The determination of the NEET Merit List is made up of including
- An applicant must attain a minimum of the 50th percentile in the qualifying entrance exam, i.e., NEET 2026.
- If the candidate fails to score the minimum qualifying marks, they will not be allowed for the Counselling process.
- Lastly, aspirants must have passed individually in Physics, Biology/Biotechnology, Chemistry and English. Additionally, they must have a minimum of 50% as the sum of all subjects.
