The National Testing Agency (NTA) has declared the NEET UG 2026 Result along with the All India Merit List, category-wise cutoff marks, and scorecards for candidates who appeared in the NEET UG 2026 Re-Examination held on 21 June 2026. Qualified candidates can now download their scorecards and check their All India Rank (AIR), category rank, percentile, and qualifying status through the official NEET website.
The NEET Merit List 2026 forms the basis for admission to MBBS, BDS, BAMS, BHMS, BUMS, BSMS, and other undergraduate medical courses across India. The merit list is used for 15% All India Quota (AIQ) counselling conducted by MCC, admissions to AIIMS, JIPMER, ESIC, AFMS, Central Universities, Deemed Universities, and also serves as the reference for 85% State Quota counselling, where individual state counselling authorities prepare their respective state merit lists based on NEET UG 2026 scores.

Tie-Breaking For NEET Rank List 2026
If a situation arises with two or more applicants having the same rank, tie-breaking is needed. Here are some rules for tie-breaking.
- Applicants with higher marks in biology will be given high ranks and preferred.
- If the tie still exists, a candidate with higher marks in chemistry will be given preference.
- If the tie does not break, the applicant with fewer negative marks will be prioritised.
- And if the problem still lies, the older applicant will be preferred.
How is the NEET Merit List Compiled
The NEET 2026 Rank List compilation follows the guidelines directed by the National Medical Commission and the Dental Council of India.
- The eligibility is laid out as per the Graduate Medical Education Regulations 1997.
- The determination of the NEET Merit List is made up of including
- An applicant must attain a minimum of the 50th percentile in the qualifying entrance exam, i.e., NEET 2026.
- If the candidate fails to score the minimum qualifying marks, they will not be allowed for the Counselling process.
- Lastly, aspirants must have passed individually in Physics, Biology/Biotechnology, Chemistry and English. Additionally, they must have a minimum of 50% as the sum of all subjects.
