Exam Trends Impacting 2025 Cutoffs
- Paper Difficulty: NEET 2025 was comparatively tougher, especially in Physics and Chemistry. Many top scorers reported lower-than-expected marks.
- Number of Qualifiers: Over 12 lakh students qualified, but with difficulty level factored in, average scores are lower this year.
- Seat Increase: Although a few hundred seats have been added across government colleges, the overall seat-to-student ratio remains tight.
As NEET UG 2025 counselling begins, students should analyze both rank and marks while shortlisting colleges. Given this year’s tougher paper and large candidate pool, expect minor shifts in rank but a slightly lower mark cutoff for even the most competitive colleges.
